Charybdis

The fig tree swayed in the wind coming off the azure water. White waves crashed against the rocky outcrop, spraying me with salty mist. Sunlight glimmered in the sea’s waves, highlighting the rocky shore beneath the surface. A deeper blue rested there, hiding the thing that lurked in the waves below.

Across from my precariously grown fig tree, a great cliff sat, a wide cave beneath where I knew danger lived. Countless shipwrecks waited beneath the water, yet not a single human remain could be found. The bones and viscera of those poor souls lost in the strait had no doubt been consumed by what lurked beneath in the dark of the sea.

I sat on the rock’s edge opposite the cave, arm wrapped around the fig tree for balance. The cliff was steep and uninviting. Yet there was no other way to enter the strait that didn’t involve a boat that would undoubtedly sink. Even my little raft, securely tied to the rocky outcropping, was at risk of being sunk.

Seagulls sat on the cliff across from me, feathers ruffling, eyes sharp as they watched me. No doubt bits of flesh and bone had washed up from below countless times. They were waiting. Just as I was.

It was a peaceful day. The sun and wind were gentle, wafting the smell of the sea upward to those brave enough to wander close. In the distance ships were sailing, moving between kingdoms, going to war and brokering peace, transporting the goods required for life. I watched them, listening to the waves lap softly below until they suddenly stopped.

The sea came to an eerie standstill and the gulls began to call, filling the air with a cacophony of noise. I shifted, moving further down the edge until I was barely holding onto the tree’s trunk, reaching instead for branches that hung over the edge. A fury of movement had the gulls launching into the air, circling as the sea began to churn.

It moved slowly at first, a few giant bubbles moving to the surface as something beneath stirred. The water shifted, spiraling inward, moving faster and faster on the surface until it began to dip downward, sucked towards the bottom of the ocean. A great whirlpool formed and cut a hole through the water, sucking in anything on the surface.

My little raft shuddered on the surface, the rope tugged viciously by the current. I plucked a fig from the branch of the tree and tossed it down, watched it swirl around and disappear. My lips pursed and my heart thudded, muscles tightening as I prepared to meet whatever doom lurked below.

With a final breath, I released the branch. It waggled in the wind and I plummeted downward. The water was cool against my skin as I hit its surface and sunk below. I could barely catch a breath before the current sucked me under. A world of blue and grey swallowed me, soaking through my clothes and surrounding me in an instant.

I couldn’t focus on the world spinning around me. The waves sucked me in, turning me through the whirlpool’s vortex as it pulled me down further and further. Below, eerie darkness haunted the ocean floor. Great teeth jutted out of a giant grey maw, spread open and pulling in the water. It was the width of several people with rows of pointed teeth that pulled anything inward that the creature wanted.

The beast moved her head, thrashing around as she sucked in the water. Fish and sea life were pulled inside, foolish and forgetful of the danger that waited here. There was no kelp or vegetation nearby. They had all been lost eons ago to the beast’s hunger and had never dared to grow again.

I slammed against the side of the worm-like monster, hands gripping the edge of her mouth and avoiding the frightful teeth. My lungs burned from being held beneath the waves, body aching from the constant push and pull of the current. Everything in me begged for release from the whirlpool that the creature forged.

My fingers gripped the edge of her opened mouth, one of the large petals that opened and closed at her pleasure. She shifted against me, body writhing within the confines of the cave she dwelled in. I pulled myself up and near the opening, securing my feet against the edge of her maw. Then, with a final glance at the surface, I pushed myself upward and in.

I pulled my arms and legs in, careful to not let her teeth snag my clothes or skin. Darkness swallowed me, water and fish flying around me into the gullet of the beast. I landed roughly in a sticky good that bit at my skin. Water flooded in behind me, pushing me around in the creature’s gullet.

She closed her mouth behind me, throat constricting as I groped at her throat, trying to find a way to stay near her mouth. I grabbed onto one of the large back teeth the worm-like monster had, holding firm to it even as it began to cut into my skin. Charybdis made a strange purring sound that vibrated around me as the muscle of her gullet squeezed me, trying to pull me further down. She swallowed, pressing me firmly between the layers of her flesh. Saliva coated me, lubricating the tooth I held to.

I whimpered, body shuddering from the pressure of her throat closing around me. Water and saliva mixed, making my grip begin to slip on the fang. The creature shuddered and swallowed again, pressing the tongue-like member in her mouth up against me. A pulse of pleasure moved through my body at the caress and compression, sending chills of delight through my body.

Her throat continued, pulling on my body with each swallow and sound she made. The pressure on my skin set my body alight, fire and cool water at the same time. My skin became hypersensitive, responding to each press of my clothing against my flesh and the pressure through my muscles and on my joints. I gave a soft cry and moan mixed together as pulsing pleasure moved through my body which each movement of the creature’s gullet.

Charybdis groaned herself, shifting and pulling into the hole, relaxing her throat as she traveled. Water trickled in slowly, running over me and sending shivers down my spine. The tongue pressed against me and pushed to the side, trying to loosen me from her tooth. It caressed over my thighs and hips, trying to wrap around my legs and pull.

Each squeeze brought a cry of ecstasy from my lips, echoing around the mouth of the beast as she tried to consume me. My hand moved, stroking the tongue in return and sliding over its thick tissue. The tongue paused and then leaned against my hand, rubbing against it in a sudden caress. A strange purring sound rose up from the throat, sending vibrations through my body.

Her great tongue slid over my hand and up my arm, sliding along and then pressing onto my body and lazily stroking. The tongue was larger than I was, the length of two or three people, yet it became a tool of gentle caresses that drove a wild hunger through me. She swallowed again, catching me off guard, and my hand released the tooth.

I slid down and rested beneath her tongue, squished underneath its girth. She pushed it forward, working over my body and tightening her throat around me. I cried out, body humming from the eternal sensations of her swallowing form. The pressure grew and expanded, the monster growling and purring with each stroke that I made to her flesh.

My legs spread, letting the tip of her tongue slide over my stomach and upward, spreading saliva over me. I gasped for breath as the fluid coated my face and mouth, sliding between my lips and inside. My throat constricted as I coughed at the phlegm, whimpering and shuddering within her body.

The creature trembled in return, insides quivering. Water began to trickle around me, slowly seeping in from her mouth that was beginning to open. From beneath me she belched and bellowed, bringing forward the empty seawater she had pulled in just moments ago.

“Good girl,” I whimpered, rubbing my body against her muscled tongue until we both cried out in delight, her insides shaking with pleasure. The mouth opened and water flooded in before spurting upward. I was caught in the rush of fluid that came from down her gut, slime and residue and acid and seawater all flowing together and spewing upward.

The sea greeted me as I was flushed out of her system. My hands grabbed one of the opened petals of her mouth, holding there as I saw the creature expel her contents. I caressed her, gently and lovingly, just as she wanted when I was within her. My lips trailed over the stone-like skin, one final embrace before I kicked to the surface, leaving the aged creature beneath the waves once more.
